The yard

Just a little brag on the hubs. He's been working so hard on his days off. The man is obsessed with our yard, and it shows. His last set off he rocked around the whole house, the firepit and our tree out front. He also put in a GINORM sandbox for the boys, and tilled up a spot for my first garden (which Grammie helped me put in this week - I'm so excited) It looks amazing.
Here are the final pics:

Turtle Catch'n

After a morning of this:
Photobucket
and driving 4-wheelers through the mud & muck chasing cows & calves & Cayden hollering "whoo, hoo, YEAH" Papa & I took Cayden down to the turtle pond to try & catch some turtles.
Photobucket
It was a rainy, dreary day, and the turtles were teasing us, there were TONS of them, but they were just out of reach

We didn't catch any, but we sure had fun & ALMOST caught a couple frogs (if I wasn't a pansy girl, scared to touch a frog- teehee)
But we did pick some flowers for grammie. Cayden LOVES to give flowers, what a sweet boy!

Grandma Meme

The boys & I stayed went to see Grandma Meme.

(for those who don't know the story: since Cayden was a babe, Grandma would sing "Jesus loves the little ones like me, me me" to him. Once he started talking, when we would tell him we were going to see her, he would say "grandma meme?" The name just stuck and so that's how she got the name)

Ryan and Laura and Grammie & Papa all came with. (after a rig-a-ma-roll with a flat tire and swapping vehicles) We all made it to town, even through turrential rain. We met at Harvey & Karens and Jory brought Grandma up. We had Eugene's (only the best pizza on the planet) and sat around & chatted. Oh how I love my Grandma. It's always so good to see her & I always have to get our picture taken with her. Especially one of the boys with her. I just want the documentation that they KNEW her, and how much she LOVES them.

She is an amazing woman.

Ryan & I were just talking about how much we loved growing up on the same yard with Grandma & Grandpa right there. We have such wonderful memories of growing up. Grandpa died the 2nd day of my freshman year of high school. I still remember how he sneezed & you could hear it all the way across the yard, I remember how the skin on his hands would stand up when we would pull on it, I remember the sound of his voice when he would call the cats "meets, meets" and the way he would play his banjo and sing. Ryan & I used to take turns sitting on the back of his chair & combing his hair & putting it into funny parts. He had LONG, THICK, greasy hair & we always had fun playing with it. He would always fall alseep while we did it. One time we even put pony tails in.

Grandma always had me help her bake. She even let me pour stuff in & cut the rullkucken. She never cared if it was perfect or not, she was just glad I was there learning & helping. She was always supportive of me in school & sports & always encouraging. She never even cared when Ryan and I would play cars in the garden and make tunnels and hills for our cars. She just enjoyed us being there.

I'm so thankful for my Grandma. I know she's getting worse every day, I just thank the Lord for every time I get to see her & tell her I love her. Next time I see her I need to thank her for raising my dad, becuase he's an AMAZING man. I never know if THIS time, is the last time I'll see her, so I just cherish every time I get.

The Wedding!

Our friends Matt & Melinda got married last weekend. I had the honor of being one of Melinda's bridesmaids. I was so excited to be there for their day. They are such sweet friends, and they have 2 very handsome little men, Addison and Ayden! Here are the pics from the big day. They had beautiful weather & a great turnout! Congrats to you both!

Sorting cows and branding calves

We went out to the farm on Wednesday and Justyn got right to work with Uncle Ryan sorting cows and calves, and I joined with Cayden later. Grammie had fun playing with Prestyn. We ended up branding calves, and taking a few loads out to pasture. Here are the pics:

PICTURE OVERLOAD and updates!

WOW - I haven't posted here forever, things have been crazy around here lately. I'll do a few new posts with updates on things we've been up to.

We went to the farm last week. We stayed with Uncle Ryan and Auntie Laura on Tuesday night. Uncle Ryan took us out to the dam behind their house & to see some calves. Cayden was very excited to see them, but was even more excited when he could throw rocks and sticks into the water.

A storm was moving in, it was so beautiful & there was alot of lightening & thunder...made me miss the days of living on the farm.

It even hailed a little...yuck, but no major damage so that's a good thing.

Funny poses!! teehee

Oh my, Cayden is a GOOBER. I tried taking a self portrait today of me with the boys. Well for some reason Cayden thinks its funny to stick his tongue out or throw gang signs all the time. Wonder where he gets that from!?!? Anyways - these are too funny I just HAD to share!
