Grandma Meme

The boys & I stayed went to see Grandma Meme.

(for those who don't know the story: since Cayden was a babe, Grandma would sing "Jesus loves the little ones like me, me me" to him. Once he started talking, when we would tell him we were going to see her, he would say "grandma meme?" The name just stuck and so that's how she got the name)

Ryan and Laura and Grammie & Papa all came with. (after a rig-a-ma-roll with a flat tire and swapping vehicles) We all made it to town, even through turrential rain. We met at Harvey & Karens and Jory brought Grandma up. We had Eugene's (only the best pizza on the planet) and sat around & chatted. Oh how I love my Grandma. It's always so good to see her & I always have to get our picture taken with her. Especially one of the boys with her. I just want the documentation that they KNEW her, and how much she LOVES them.

She is an amazing woman.

Ryan & I were just talking about how much we loved growing up on the same yard with Grandma & Grandpa right there. We have such wonderful memories of growing up. Grandpa died the 2nd day of my freshman year of high school. I still remember how he sneezed & you could hear it all the way across the yard, I remember how the skin on his hands would stand up when we would pull on it, I remember the sound of his voice when he would call the cats "meets, meets" and the way he would play his banjo and sing. Ryan & I used to take turns sitting on the back of his chair & combing his hair & putting it into funny parts. He had LONG, THICK, greasy hair & we always had fun playing with it. He would always fall alseep while we did it. One time we even put pony tails in.

Grandma always had me help her bake. She even let me pour stuff in & cut the rullkucken. She never cared if it was perfect or not, she was just glad I was there learning & helping. She was always supportive of me in school & sports & always encouraging. She never even cared when Ryan and I would play cars in the garden and make tunnels and hills for our cars. She just enjoyed us being there.

I'm so thankful for my Grandma. I know she's getting worse every day, I just thank the Lord for every time I get to see her & tell her I love her. Next time I see her I need to thank her for raising my dad, becuase he's an AMAZING man. I never know if THIS time, is the last time I'll see her, so I just cherish every time I get.
