Prayer

~THIS BOY~

Cayden, he just melted my heart tonight & made me thankful for his open heart & childlike faith.
*
We went to dinner after soccer tonight, we had gotten our food, sat at the table (Prestyn was already chowing down) and Cayden said "Lets pray...like this" and holds his hands out to form a circle with everyone at the table.
*
He then bowed his head, closed his eyes & said "I'll pray" and proceeded with his prayer that went something along the lines of "Thank you God for this beautiful day, and thank you for soccer, and thank you for our food, amen"
*
It was so sweet and honest & full of love, I wanted to cry.
*
My child, who had no fear to grab Grandma's hand & Uncle Curts hand in a restaurant and lead us in prayer.
*
I pray he always has that heart of love, and is always true about his faith & willing to share it!!
*
I'm just so proud of our son, I just had to share.
Sometimes I take for granted what we are teaching him, and it's times like these that I realize all he's absorbing & it makes me strive to be better.
*
I love this kid!
(and Prestyn & Sidney too)

Here's your sign....

Okay - so I swore I wouldn't tell ANYONE this.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
and then proceeded to tell everyone.
*
*
*
*
*
*
*
*
let's just say I've been a little "FRAZZED" lately.
*
what? You say...Kimberly...frazzed...noway!
*
*
*
*
Yep, that's me.
Talking on my cell phone (we don't have a home line) to my friend Lorisa.
We're are all business as I have to get all 3 kids out the door to get Cayden to AWANA.
The boys are standing around my feet "roaring" at the top of their lungs.
Lorisa says "how are you?"
*
HONESTY ensues.
*
*
*
*
*
I tell her: "I'm completely frazzed" (as I'm looking all over the cupboards) "I have to get Cayden to AWANA, (searching the top of the microwave) Prestyn has just pooped his pants, (searching the "nursing station") I can barely hear you over the roaring, and now I can't find my phone"
*
*
*
*
*
*
Lorisa says "YOU.CAN'T.FIND.YOUR.PHONE" and starts giggling.
*
*
*
*
*Oh my soul- I can't believe I "couldn't find my phone" the whole time it's sitting in my hand as I talk to my friend.
That's my sign that I've LOST IT.
WOW ~ I better go to bed.

4 MONTHS OLD!

SIDNEY CARIN
My baby girl is 4 months old today! WOW how time flies.
~Today she weighs 13lbs 10 oz (50%)
25 1/2 inches long (85%)

She's a sweet little girl and loves to see what's going on.
She wants to face out when being held so she can watch all the activity.
She loves to SIT, weather it be on our lap or in the bumbo.
Sidney loves to grab for her toys and reach for things.
She has mastered rolling from her belly to her back & has figured out how to roll onto her side when on her back - so I don't think it'll be long & she'll be rolling all the way.
Sidney LOVES to be talked to, and loves to "talk" back by cooing and making blurbery noises.
She appears to be teething, she drools like crazy & her shirt is usually drenched by midday.
*
I love my baby girl & am so thankful for her sweet smiley face!!
When she wakes up in the morning & I go in to get her I get the sweetest sleepy face smiles, they just melt my heart & make everything worthwhile.

Hey mom....

Tonight as I was reading a book to Prestyn & Cayden before bed,
Prestyn interrupted me and said "Hey mom"
Me: "yes"
Prestyn: "hey mom" (i thought this would continue ~ as it normally does ~ so I ignored him)
Prestyn: "hey mom, you know what i think we should do tomorrow?"
Me: (a little shocked by the BIG sentance coming from my 2 year olds mouth) "what?"
Prestyn: "I should go to cool (school) too"
Me: (still shocked by his sentance & a little saddened by the fact that he wants to go to school) "I think we should just go to story hour tomorrow at the library ~ do you think that would be fun?"
Prestyn: "yeah"
~ where did my baby go?~
~I can't believe the things that he says & how big he is getting~

Papa's Pumpkin Patch

We took a trip to Bismarck while Grammie was here.
We thought it'd be fun for the boys to go to the pumpkin patch.
We haven't been there since Cayden was Sidney's age, and it's changed alot.
Daddy LOVES his baby girl.
Just a note: PRESTYN WILL NOT SMILE....he's such a stinker.
The kids on the HUGE chair.
The 3 littles again!
Missy Carin getting so big (and wondering what the world is going on)
The boys had an absolute ball.
Cayden kepts saying "mom, I'm so happy, I LOVE this"
:)

Our family!

Grammie with the kids!

Daddy showing the boys the corn.
The boys off on an adventure through the "corn maze"

How cute are they?

Grammie hang'n out with Miss Sidney

Our family again

We had a fun time. The boys when through the "corn maze" climbed & went through the bale tunnels (daddy & I even joined in on that part).
Then we took some pictures, went & let the boys climb on the trains etc.
It was a fun day & the weather was PERFECT for it.

looking on the bright side....

...it could have been red kool aid on the carpet...
paint on the floor/wall.....
sharpie markers on the table...
you know...something much more horrible....
But THIS happened today...
can you see it??

Cayden was getting the last drops of his yogurt stick out -
by rolling it up....
hmm....

I just heard a "squirt"....
and what did I find....
SPLATTER all over the wall...

and all I could do it giggle...it could have been worse.

Cayden's FIRST day of Pre-K!

Cayden started PRESCHOOL today...yep, I said it....my baby is growing up.
*
Last night Justyn & I were talking about the day we found out we were pregnant with Cayden.
I can still remember that feeling...
my whole body growing warm knowing I had LIFE inside of me.
*
It was like our little secret.
*
I think I called Justyn at work about 14 times that day, we were both THRILLED to be expecting our first baby.
*
I remember the day he was born, the smell of his fresh newness, the sweet curve of his lips and his sweet little grunts & groans.
*
I remember the first time he clapped his hands, and how exciting it was.
*
I remember when he started walking & talking and how much JOY he brought us, and how much laughter.
*
I want to look back on this FIRST DAY OF PRESCHOOL with JOY and LAUGHTER and remember his excitment for school.
*
ah....my little sappy trip down memory lane....
*
Now on to the details of today....
Growing up my mom always took our picture on our first day of school with our backpacks so I HAD to start the same tradition with my kids.
Here he is ready to go:

Then he said he wanted one standing NEXT TO his backpack....okay.

I wanted an outdoor picture too - so he posed by the front door for me.

And HE wanted one by the tree...I LOVE this pose.

I told him "okay, we have to go" and he said "mom, this is going to be AWESOME!!"
*
I choked on myself out of JOY for him & his excitement and a little sadness for me.
*
Realizing that my "baby" isn't such a baby anymore.
*
.......then I sucked it up & drove him to school
*
A quick snapshot outside of school.

And of course in front of the locker....
if felt good to see all the other mama's snapping pictures of their kids' first days. :)
(i'm not the only crazy one)

He even posed at his desk for me.

Cayden was permagrim the entire time!!

When he got home I had this surprise for him...
a giant cookie to celebrate his first day.
It says "Pre-K 9-7-10"
I think this will be another yearly tradition.
I'm so proud of my lil man! He did so great today & is so excited to go back!!
