THE PARADE
We went to the parade on Saturday as well. It was windy & cool, but we only got a few sprinkles, and a 1/2 bag full of candy! It was fun and Cayden LOVED it!

RECIPE SEARCH!!
I'm in desperate need of some new recipes my friends. Its finally being consistantly warm out & I'm already sick of burgers & brats on the grill! Tonight I used my sister's marinade recipe and we are grilling steaks, I'm taking some frozen french fries and seasoning them in a tin-foil bag and grilling that too.
So, please share with me some of your favorite grilling recipes/foods, and favorite side dishes. I want things that are easy to make this summer that don't require a ton of prep work or heating up the entire house. Crockpot recipes are great too...THANKS FOR SHARING!!!

MOTHERLOAD of pictures
So, we had a fun Father's Day weekend. Friday night we buzzed up to Justyn's parents house & spent the evening there hanging out.
Saturday we went out fishing. Ryan and Chance met us there and we fished all morning. It was fun to get out & enjoy some sunshine.

We got home & were wiped out. All the boys took a HUGE nap. Then Ryan & Chance came over & we played out in the yard and had a HUGE water fight.
Elliot...I mean Chance, enjoyed "chill'n" in Cayden's pool:

It was a fun day & we even had a bonfire after dinner.
Sunday was a good day too. We got to love up on Justyn whose the most wonderful daddy in the world. He's so awesome with our little men and takes such good care of them. We had to do a little photo shoot to celebrate the day.

Slow-cooked Lasagna Alfredo
Here's a new recipe I finally tried. It's been sitting in my "to try" pile for AGES, and I finally made it. It turned out great and was really yummy (plus it didn't heat up the entire house)
Slow- cooked Lasagna Alfredo
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1 lb lean ground beef
1 (26.5 oz) can Hunts Traditional style spaghetti sauce
1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
9 no-boil lasagna noodles (7 oz) I used regular & it turned out fine
1 (16oz) jar ragu classic alfredo sauce
3 cups (12 oz) shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
Dried parsley flakes (optional for garnishing)
In a large skillet, (over med-high heat) cook the ground beef, until thoroughly cooked, stirring often; drain.
Spray the inside of a 4 to 5 qt slow cooker, with non-stick cooking spray. Spread ¾ cup of spaghetti cause, in bottom of slowcooker. Add remaining spaghetti sauce and tomato sauce to cooked ground beef, stir.
Layer 3 lasagna noodles over the spaghetti sauce in slowcooker; breaking noodles if necessary. Top with 1/3 of the alfredo sauce; spreading evenly. Sprinkle with 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese. Top with 1/3 of the ground beef mixture; spreading evenly.
Repeat layering twice, using 3 lasagna noodles in last layer. Sprinkle top with grated parmesan cheese.
Cover; cook on low setting for 3.5-4.5 hours. Just before serving, sprinkle top of lasagna with dried parsley flakes. Makes 6-8 servings.
ENJOY!
Our stash!! (pics)
Well, lets see. I decided to start cloth diapering when I got pregnant with Prestyn. Cayden was still in diapers, and all I could see was the huge Wal-Mart bill every month buying diapers for TWO babies!
So I chatted and asking 456,083,023,980 questions to some of my CDing buddies on my AE board, and convinced Justyn to let me try it. :) So I ordered a sample pack of pocket diapers. I got 4 and tried them on Cayden, I fell in love, thought they were adorable but was still a little leery. Would I be able to handle this?
Well I had an opportunity to buy the MOTHERLOAD of BG3.0's before Prestyn was born, but I backed out & said I'd wait & try the samples I had on him before I bought in just in case I didn't like the pockets (there are TONS of different kinds of cloth diaper these days - way beyond the prefolds & plastic pants)
So Prestyn came, and we put him in sposies, and then when he was about 6 weeks old I started the cloth on him. I loved the pockets, they were easy to put on & remove (even for Dad - haa haa) and they were CUTE.
Well here we are and Prestyn is almost 11 months old & we're still CDing & LOVING it! I've tried about everything and my love is for prefolds, wonderwraps OS covers, BG3.0's, and Haute Pockets.
Here's the pics of my "complete" stash (for now)
Bum Genius 3.0:
Happy Heiney, 2 WAHM pockets, Diaper Change and 4 Haute Pockets:
Prefolds:
WonderWrap's OS diaper covers:
Yes, yes indeed there are two "pink" diapers in there - they look ALMOST red, okay so they're pink, but hey, MAYBE someday I'll have a girl!!! teehee
THE ZOO!!
We went to the zoo today!
Justyn has worked 12 of the last 16 nights and he had yesterday & today off so we decided to do something fun as a family & headed off to the zoo. It was kids day, so they had all kinds of games and prizes for the little ones. Cayden had ALOT of fun. Prestyn was awesome, he just sat in the stroller & observed everything going on & when we'd stop to check out an animal he'd just watch.
When we were getting close to the monkey's I said something like "should we go see the monkeys?" and Cayden said "the monkey's, Just like me?" (we call him monkey) :) It was cute!
We all touched a snake. Cayden got to sit in a firetruck and an ambulance. It was a fun day.
After the zoo we had lunch with Uncle Ryan and then he kept the boys for us while we did a little shopping. It was so nice! What a great Uncle these boys have!!
FUN!
They are here, we had a good time. They got here & we had roast for dinner. Then mom & I ran to the grocery store & papa kept the brats. Then we came home & sang happy birthday to papa & had ice cream treats! :) The kids all took a bath, and are sleeping now. So I'm just showing them some more computer stuff & just hanging out! I love when they come to visit!
WAITING!!!
I'm excited! Grammie & Papa and Hope are coming through & spending the night with us on their way to IL for my cousins wedding. I'm excited to see them & Cayden can't wait to see Hope! :)
Just need to find my patience....I hate waiting for them to show up!!! Wish they'd just be here already!
Today's project
Well, today was a cool, kinda dreary day. So to start the day off I made a batch of homemade buns. :) YUM! Came out with 4 dozen, so our freezer is good & stocked up for grilling season! I love me a homemade burger on a homemade bun! mmmm, scrump-diddly-umptious!!!
Then my creative juices started flowing and I made this for Prestyn's room:
I love how it turned out & now need to make one for Cayden, need to buy more paper first...I think I hear Hobby Lobby calling my name!
