COZUMEL day 5

Here we are waiting in the lobby of our hotel for our jeep tour around the island.
Justyn got to drive us to our first stop!

This was where we waited for our instructions for the jeep tour & the first adventure of our tour - SNORKELLING.

You better believe I was slightly nervous & praying that I didn't PUKE in the water again!
We survived.  I lasted about 10 minutes.  Then I started feeling junky & swam to shore.  The snorkelling here was AMAZING.  It was some sort of a protected reserve & the fish were MUCH more vibrant here.
SERIOUSLY, a KID on the back of a moped.....wow.
After the snorkelling we continued on to get a tour of some Mayan ruins.
Was an interesting tour.
I guess the Mayan's DO NOT think the world is going to end soon.

WHOO, I feel like I can breathe (insert sarcasm)
It was actually kind of interesting to hear the resonings for the pillars, and the way they built their entry ways & the 7 & 7 & 7 of everything.

I started to get bored so Justyn & I snuck to the back & snapped some pics.
Maybe I was more distracted than I thought?
There was alot of information thrown at us, but this spot has something to do with lining up with the 1st star & it leads directly to the ocean or something.

Whatever, it looked cool.

Then we headed on down the raod to the Tequilla Factory (Museum).
They were VERY excited for our tour.
I had to get my picture by at least ONE drunk Mexican while we were there.

Waiting for our tour.
Sampling some Tequilla.
My favorite was the Blue Agave.
Did you know that the best Tequilla is made from 100% agave.
If the label doesn't say "100% Agave" then you shouldn't buy it!
Interesting tidbit.

TEQUILLA

Beautiful view!
Back in the jeep again - & headed for lunch.

Now we were driving along the East side of the Island.  The beaches were so sandy & beautiful on this side & the waves were huge & beautiful.

This is where we stopped for lunch.
It looked a little sketchy to me, plus there were like 45 (I may be exaggerating) dogs running around.

Island view from lunch.

After our lunch we headed down to the beach.  This is the view of the restaurant.
We ate up on the top level

Heade to check out the sandy beaches.

One of my favorite pics from this vacay!
I love this man!
After lunch we headed on to the crocodile reserve.
We saw about 3 crocodile, supposedly there were about 150 spread out through the whole reserve.
Had to take this shot for the boys!

The last stop was the lighthouse.
We climbed all the way to the top.

It was well worth the hike, it was absolutely BEAUTIFUL from up there.

The water was endless & the green land was so beautiful!

Super windy up there, but we LOVED it.

Santiago & Paco were our tour guides!  They were a good time.

After the tour was over we got dropped at our hotel, & got to see a wedding on the beach outside our hotel room.
We got cleaned up & headed out for dinner & drinks.
Dinner wasn't great so we hit up the convience store for some muchies.
Mexican chocolate is NASTY - just FYI!
However their skittles, peanuts & stax are great!!

COZUMEL day 4

We loved the opportunity to go to bed & get up whenever we wanted to.
Today we slept in & went to breakfast, then took a little hike around our hotel.
This is the front lobby area.
 US!
Then we went & hit the beach.  Justyn went snorkelling again.
I was a little intimidated from the other day so I opted out.
 Relaxing on the beach!
 The snorkelling guru!
What I did best all week!
We left our hotel in the early afternoon & went downtown Cozumel.
We did some shopping (Mexican Vanilla, some coconut necklaces & other souvineers)
Then we went to Fat Tuesdays & had a drink while we waited for our Lobster Dinner cruise.

Excited to eat some different food (and nervous that  I will get motion sickness on the boat)

The "boat" for our dinner cruise.
At this point I'm starting to freak out a bit, watching it bounce & sway all over the water & there are PIRATES all over the boat....WHAT IN THE WORLD is going on??
As we were waiting in line to get on our "dinner cruise" the pirates came up & were inspecting my jewelry, seeing if my diamond was "real" etc.  We hopped on board, we figured if 30 other random people felt it was safe we should too! LOL
We were pleasantly surprised.  It wasn't a romantic dinner cruise.
Rather, a PIRATE dinner cruise.  With entertainment the entire night.
They danced for us, talked alot, sang some songs.
Razzed all the unsuspecting bystanders (and especially this handsome bald man)
Stole some of the women's jewelry & things from their purse.
My earing was "stolen"!  I asked for it back of course!
The pirates had to climb up & watch for other ships.
They even had some contests amoung the guests.  Justyn & I won the balloon popping contest.
We got this beautiful pirate bandana (the kids are STILL playing with it & saying "AARGH")
We ate a delicious dinner of steak, lobster, baked potato & mixed veggies - it was delish.
Then we got to watch a real sword fight.
We had so much fun!
We would totally go on a "dinner cruise" like that again, it was very entertaining & fun!

COZUMEL day 3

Ahhhh, day 3!
Our resort offered free snorkelling every day for 2 hours.
So we decided to give it a whirl today!
The sun was out & it was beautiful!
 Ready to head out!
We got our snorkel gear & headed out. We both got the hang of it pretty quickly.
I however, couldn't handle the motion. I started to feel dizzy & told J I was headed back to shore.
Then I puked.
Where do you put puke when you are standing in a large body of water?
IN THE WATER?
All of a sudden Justyn is yelling at me "Kimberly, check it out, these fish are swarming me"
I'm trying not to puke again as I'm laughing at the fact the fish are eating my PUKE and swimming all around J!
He's grossed out, I keep heading for shore & puke 1 more time.
Go to the room & clean up & then wait on the beach & watch him continue to snorkel.
 Justyn snorkelling.
Then we spent the rest of the am snooz'n on the beach, reading & soak'n up the sun!

All week, Justyn wanted to do this parasailing...I told him I'd ride in the boat, but he wouldn't get me up in the air over the water like that.
We spent the afternoon by the pool with our ND friends!
It was so fun to catch up & hang out.
We ended up playing some mad games of beach volleyball!
Oh was that fun (and hot)!  Brought me back to the good 'ole days, except for the fact that I am old now & jumping in sand is nearly impossible.

We were gonna head for Coconuts for dinner that night with friends, but found out it was on the other side of the island, so we stayed at the resort.
Instead we took in the VERY CHEESY - 'horror' show the resort put on.
We were laughing through most of it!
Good times!

COZUMEL day 2

Breakfast of fresh fruit?  Pretty please!
It was amazing that we were on vacation & still ended getting up by 8am??
I guess that was sleeping in for us!
We ended up running into one of Justyn's highschool classmates at our resort, what are the chances of that?  So on Tuesday we hung out at the pool with them & their friends & caught up.
This pool had a swim up bar.

 J - soak'n up the sunshine!
me - soak'n up the sunshine!
After a day full of swimming we went back & took a long nap & then met up with our friends for dinner on the beach.
They had a fire show which was quite intertaining.
Our boys would have been enthralled.

COZUMEL day 1

Waiting for our flight out & sooo excited for our week getaway!
Our flight to Cozumel was good.  When we landed we had to go through customs, which wasn't as horrible as I had imagined.  We finally got onto our shuttle bus & felt excited to be almost there.
UNTIL....we got dropped at the wrong hotel.
Nice.
No reservation, they don't know the # for the hotel we are staying at, we'll have to take a cab.
We were both po'd at this point, had already paid for the shuttle & now have to get a taxi to go to the correct hotel.
So we get the taxi & he takes us to the SECOND wrong hotel.
I was at the point of tears.  Finally pronounced it a different way & we finally arrived at our correct hotel.
SWEET!!!  We couldn't wait to just get to our room & relax.
We were thrilled when we saw THIS to be the view off our balcony!
 Jacuzzi tub & all!
Our room was not exactly what I had expected, but it was nice, the bed was comfy & we had an ocean view!  PERFECT!
We quickly threw on our suits & headed out for the water!!
We luked out & found a nice couple to take our picture for us! YAY!
We got ready & headed out for dinner.  YAY!  Finally time to relax!
