Here we are waiting in the lobby of our hotel for our jeep tour around the island.
Justyn got to drive us to our first stop!
This was where we waited for our instructions for the jeep tour & the first adventure of our tour - SNORKELLING.
You better believe I was slightly nervous & praying that I didn't PUKE in the water again!
We survived. I lasted about 10 minutes. Then I started feeling junky & swam to shore. The snorkelling here was AMAZING. It was some sort of a protected reserve & the fish were MUCH more vibrant here.
SERIOUSLY, a KID on the back of a moped.....wow.
After the snorkelling we continued on to get a tour of some Mayan ruins.
Was an interesting tour.
I guess the Mayan's DO NOT think the world is going to end soon.
WHOO, I feel like I can breathe (insert sarcasm)
It was actually kind of interesting to hear the resonings for the pillars, and the way they built their entry ways & the 7 & 7 & 7 of everything.
I started to get bored so Justyn & I snuck to the back & snapped some pics.
Maybe I was more distracted than I thought?
There was alot of information thrown at us, but this spot has something to do with lining up with the 1st star & it leads directly to the ocean or something.
Whatever, it looked cool.
Then we headed on down the raod to the Tequilla Factory (Museum).
They were VERY excited for our tour.
I had to get my picture by at least ONE drunk Mexican while we were there.
Waiting for our tour.
Sampling some Tequilla.
My favorite was the Blue Agave.
Did you know that the best Tequilla is made from 100% agave.
If the label doesn't say "100% Agave" then you shouldn't buy it!
Interesting tidbit.
TEQUILLA
Beautiful view!
Back in the jeep again - & headed for lunch.
Now we were driving along the East side of the Island. The beaches were so sandy & beautiful on this side & the waves were huge & beautiful.
This is where we stopped for lunch.
It looked a little sketchy to me, plus there were like 45 (I may be exaggerating) dogs running around.
Island view from lunch.
After our lunch we headed down to the beach. This is the view of the restaurant.
We ate up on the top level
Heade to check out the sandy beaches.
One of my favorite pics from this vacay!
I love this man!
After lunch we headed on to the crocodile reserve.
We saw about 3 crocodile, supposedly there were about 150 spread out through the whole reserve.
Had to take this shot for the boys!
The last stop was the lighthouse.
We climbed all the way to the top.
It was well worth the hike, it was absolutely BEAUTIFUL from up there.
The water was endless & the green land was so beautiful!
Super windy up there, but we LOVED it.
Santiago & Paco were our tour guides! They were a good time.
After the tour was over we got dropped at our hotel, & got to see a wedding on the beach outside our hotel room.
We got cleaned up & headed out for dinner & drinks.
Dinner wasn't great so we hit up the convience store for some muchies.
Mexican chocolate is NASTY - just FYI!
However their skittles, peanuts & stax are great!!
LOL @ mexican choc is nasty!! hahahaa.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the pic of you 2 on the beach, and the lighthouse looks amazing!!! wow, what a beautiful place!!
