TURTLE DAYS 2010

We went to Turtle Lake for Turtle Days. It was HOT!!! Nana was so prepared & had a pool ready to go for the kids. They loved it, but once the big boys got too hot & decided it was time for a full on water fight/wresting match - her pool didn't last too long.

Thank goodness for an open store & an awesome Nana who ran downtown to pick up a new one.
Cayden thought he needed to wear his goggles for the waterfight. Nice ears huh?
Prestyn needed to be SENSORED!

On Saturday we walked downtown to watch the parade.
The boys thought they were so cool in their shade.

Waiting patiently for it all to start.
Chance is ever the poser!!
After the parade we went home & cooled off for awhile & had lunch. Then we headed back downtown to watch the soap box races (I think that's what they are called)
We were lucky to find a spot in the shade.
The boys were trying to cool off in the wagon.

After more fun in the water Nana came home and got some snuggles in with Miss Sidney.

Cousin Brian had a turtle he had enter into the races, and the boys set up a new "race track" for him to practice on.

Prestyn kept saying "mon, mommy, turtle BITE CHEW"
He was actually quite fast.

See, I could barely catch him on camera.

It was a great weekend, but went by all to fast as usual.

Sidney's baby shower

Our church threw a baby shower for Miss Sidney. It was a "beach baby" theme.
The centerpieces were buckets of sand with shovels in them & a beach towel.

They served banana splits - YUMMO!

We played a "Name that price" game with beach themed things like sunscreen and swim diapers, and a game where we all stood in a circle & threw a beach ball to each other - the beach ball had all kinds of beach related questions on it like "have you ever wore a yellow polka dot bikini" and you had to anwswer before passing it on.

And Sidney was spoiled ROTTEN and got way too much clothes, she'll have to change about 14 times a day just to wear it all.
It was an awesome shower - I'm so thankful to all my friends who came to celebrate Sidney's birth with us!
THANK YOU!!

Just keep'n the grandma's happy

And anyone else who wants to see our little miss.

She's getting so big already, but LOVES to snuggle.

She is over-all a pretty content baby and gets lots of hugs & kisses from her brothers.

It's hard to believe Sidney is 5 weeks old already.

Sidney SMILES!!

We gave little miss Sidney her first bottle of EBM yesterday.
She snarfed it down and LOVED it.
Daddy was busy talking to her after he gave her the bottle and she gave him a whole bunch of sweet smiles.
SO SWEET!

PARADE DAY!

Well today was the parade. The boys were so excited to go. Uncle Ryan met us at the house and came along. I had to get a picture with all 3 kids as I haven't had one until now. You can just see Sidney's little head popping out of the sling. :)

The boys were excited when they hear the sirens, then they new the parade was about to begin. Uncle Kerry and Nana and Papa all were there too!
WHOOHOO, a police car!

At first they were ALL over the candy, grabbing it as fast as they could. Prestyn only wanted to hold onto the candy, not put it in the bag, and he even threw some back out to the parade participants. If we offered him another candy, he'd drop what was in his hand and take the new candy. Cayden was a madman after the candy.....that is....until he saw the cheerleader girls. Then he said "mom, look at the girls" and he stood there open mouthed! UGH

Auntie Heather was in the parade and even saved a bunch of candy for us!

Sidney slept through all the honking and ruckus.

You know you live in North Dakota when you mount a deer head on the front of your 4-wheeler - right?
It was muggy & hot, Papa was so sweet to shade Prestyn from the sun!

Cousins Kole and Beau were in the parade too. Beau even threw us some straw!! :)

After the parade we came back to the house to cool off.
Of course Nana had to get her snuggles in with little missy.
Papa too!

Meanwhile Prestyn was busy kissing/attacking Uncle Ryan.

Cayden even managed to get Nana to read a book to him!

We waited for Daddy to wake up & all went out to lunch! It was a great morning/afternoon. I love days like this! Nothing better than spending time with family!

Little Johnny!

Tonight was Sidney first "star" sighting. I was headed over to watch the Johnny Holm Band play and nurse her, on the way over we got stopped by some friends. As we were chatting this man came up & oohed over her. He asked how old she was & I told him and then realized it was JOHNNY HOLM. I asked him if he'd take his picture with her. By then his daughter had come over too, so they were sweet and posed for a picture with her. Johnny thought she was so cute & fake kissed her! :)
After sitting and listening to the music for awhile, Prestyn decided to join Johnny on the dance floor. He was an instant hit!! He followed Johnny around shaking his bootie.
He loved the spotlight!

The crowd was roaring with laughter at Prestyn and his shenanigans.

He kept pointing mid dance move. Johnny joined in and pointed with him!
He even introduced Prestyn as "Little Johnny"

Prestyn had a great time and was all tuckered out when it was time to leave.
I think we might have a future rocker on our hands.
