The mother ship has landed!

It all began when papa showed the kids a  weather balloon parachute he found out in the pasture.  The kids had all sorts of questions...."where did it come from" "was it from mars" "what does the tag say"....well according to Hope & Cayden the tag said "warning! asteroid"....this in turn got our wheels spinning.

Late Saturday evening when ALL the little kids had gone to bed, Stephanie & I got a great idea.  The parachute must have some use in playing a trick on the littles. Sooo, on Saturday night a spaceship landed in Grammie & Papa's backyard. The parachute was hanging from the archway to the garden & right in front of it was a double rock ring where the spaceship must have landed.
The kids were all shocked to wake up Sunday morning & find out that aliens had come.

I didn't get a picture but there were EVEN black skid marks on the roof of the garage where the spaceship must have skidded
Check out the amazing double rock circle formation. Prestyn tried to step inside & we warned him not to, as the Martians would know & any that were left on earth would NOT be happy.
We then ate breakfast & when papa came in he informed us that he had found the mother ship & that after church & lunch he'd take us all out to see it.

So after lunch we all piled on the 4-wheelers & headed out to see the spaceship.
Papa took us on a trail ride to looks & see if we could find any alien tracks.
Then he brought us to the mother ship! Wow, the children were amazed. They were also a little trepid at approaching the mother ship.
So, papa, Charlie & I walked up to the spaceship with the kids & took a listen to see if there were still any inside. We tapped, and amazingly they tapped back! The kids even looked in a small hole & saw alien eggs! How amazing it was!  Sidney was scared so she stayed back on the 4-wheeler with Grammie.
We tried lifting it up to see if there was more evidence underneath but we couldn't budge it.
After we looked at the spaceship we heard a ding over by these other alien abandoned ships.  The kids went to check it out, with some comfort of having papa by their side.

We even found a trail where the aliens had walked & even had broken grass blades.  When Papa & I found this we called the kids to come check it out! When Cayden & Prestyn were on their way & a few feet away there was a sudden noise & Prestyn bolted running back to Grammie & Auntie Steph, while Cayden said he didn't want to come & and started breathing heavily like he was worried.
We let them believe all of this was true for most of the day & around supper time we sat down & asked them all if they thought that Aliens were real? Then we explained how the rocks got into formation & how the parachute had "landed" and where the "spaceship" was from (dad's old satellite dish), and answered all their questions.  We also explained that the noises by the bins were from Charlie throwing rocks & the path was from the cows who had gotten out.

They all acted like they had already known & were just playing along with us!

It turned out to be so much fun & rather hilarious!  What a fun time!  Now don't worry, nobody is sleeping with tinfoil on their heads! LOL.

Pyros!

Remember the other day when Charlie & Cayden & I worked at pulling & haulin out the trees? Well tonight was the night for the "pyros" to have their fun.
Charlie was busy getting things ready.
Papa wasn't far away to lend a hand.
The kids were excited to watch the action.
Soon the fire was blazing.
Then it got REALLY hot!
Enjoying some time with my mama!
The whole crew!
"Cody" was a wild man tonight, running, jumping, riding bike & being a goober.
Two of my favorite people!
After the fire died down a bit we brought out the marshmallows & had a little snack before bed!

Oops, didn't think it was that wet!

Papa came & asked if one of us girls could come help...he got stuck.

The boys & I hopped on the 4-wheeler & headed down to meet papa & Charlie.

He had it stuck pretty good!
Of course I had to document this momentous occasion!
Wow!
The boys were nosey & had to check it out too!
Papa drove the front tractor & I drove the back. Left Charlie with the camera to document!
Charlie documented these 2 cuties! Yes, Prestyn is wearing a headband.  Somedays I choose my battles & the headband.....well, u can talk to Grammie!
Of course there had to be a selfie of Charlie too!
& one of his legs, notice how LONG they look, that'a why he took the picture (or so he tells me)
The aftermath!
Oh & proof of what Charlie really did during this whole process!  You almost can't tell what he's doing...but that white spot...that's his belly trying to get some sun!

Cousins!

Ryan & Laura & Kyran came out for dinner & we all had a great time!  Uncie got some snuggle time in with Aubs.
So did Auntie! :)
Kyran seemed to like Aubrey...although he generally kept his distance....he liked to look & smirk at her.  Love that smirk.
Here are all the cousins together! <3 all="" nbsp="" ove="" p="" pieces="" them="" to="">

Baby calf

Papa called to tell us a baby calf was about to be born so we all headed out!
We just missed the birth. The mama was just licking off the calf when we got out there!
Papa answered some questions from the kids!
We love papa! He's the best & loves his grand babies! Today is even his birthday! Happy 61st birthday dad!
Mine svester & me!

Miss you daddy!

Look at me Daddy!
I'm getting bigger & miss you so much!!

Visiting the lambs at Ortmans!

It was rainy today, so we hauled all the littles over to Ortmans to see the baby lambs.
The bigger kids hopped right in with the lambs.
Then we managed to get all the bigger kids in the pen with the babies. Anthony wasn't too sure about the lambs coming after him.
These two are joined at the hip! Best cousins!  Love them together.
Prestyn LOVES the babies! He loves letting them suck on his fingers!
Alex got brave & tried it too. These giggles were priceless....wish I could have captured it.
Hopey got brave & let them suck on her fingers too. She didn't like it as much as the boys.
Aubbie even got a chance to see the lambs...actually she was small enough see sat on one!
She wasn't sure what to think!
