sheetrock going UP!

And the activity continues.

Yesterday we were able to start hanging sheetrock back up in Cayden's room.

It feels so good to be putting it all back together, after this wasn't our intended plan, but you roll with it & do what you have to do. 

Life could be worse, we are so thankful for all we have.

 This is where we got to today. 

Not bad.  We worked for a couple hours.

All we have left is the sheetrock on the top of the ledge & on top & bottom of the widow.

Then it's on to Prestyn's room! YAY

 I'm getting so excited to have it all back together & USABLE space again!

I also have to add, that I'm so proud of my husband.

He's done such a great job with everything in the basement. 

Tearing it all out, cleaning it all up, sealing everything, ording things,

buying things, building walls, fixing HOLES in the wall & now hanging sheetrock. 

He never stops amazing me!!

Spray foam is IN!

INC came today & did our spary foam insulation.

They'll have to come back & do the other half of the basement, which will be a guest room/scrapbooking/my room!!  Right side here will be our new living room, pole in the front will be moved back for a larger opening.

We had to remove the 2nd wall on the top half of the living room areas in the basement to get the ledges the same throughout the basement. 

Once they were removed & the insulation was gone, we found THIS.

 This was after the front steps had been removed & we saw there might have been some water damage here.

I'd say MAJOR water damage, the boards just crumbled apart.

 Then this was today - removed all the old nasty wood.

 My man hard at work.

Tonight it is sealed back up & replaced with new wood.

YAY!

Spray foam insulation comes on Wedneday, tomorrow we put up the bottom studs etc, and J will rewire.

Then I think it'll be towards the end of the month for sheetrock, perfataping & mudding.



basement update

I finally got blogger updated, so I can post more easily. I'm using that as my excuse for my lack of posting lately...however it just hasn't been at the top of my list of things to do.

This "summer" has been crazy with the following:

1)flooded basement

2)hubby turnaround (while flooded basement is taking place)

3)tball

4)swimming lessons

5)cake jobs

6)fundraisers

7)playdates

8)gardening

9)trips out of town

10)making out with Justyn (ha...caught you there didn't I??)

So here is our update.

Boy's rooms are ready for spray foam insulation...looking like it could happen next week.

We're hoping to get the rest of the basement walls back up & ready so it can all get foamed at the same time.  Then we can move to the sheetrocking & mudding & taping.

THEN it'll be the fun part for me.
