HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Uncle Ryan came to spend New Years with us as well as our friend Terry & Lorisa & their son Kael. Lorisa was so awesome & even brought Cheeseburger Soup along for dinner (it was YUMMY & I'm planning to blog the recipe for you all SOON).
We sat and played all sorts of games.
The kids got sidetracked by a little movie:

Prestyn managed to sneak over by us to sit:

Some friends of ours taught us a new game. I think it's call "STORY". You each have a piece of paper and a pen and start righting a story. It can be about anything. And every 30 seconds or so you switch, and pass your sheet to the person on your left. Leaving them only the last line of your story to read, and they are supposed to pick up from there.
You do this until the paper is full, then take turns reading the stories.
Needless to say, they were HILARIOUS, as you can see.

Funny enough to make Uncle Ryan CRY!!!!

We've had a wonderful 2009 and have been immensly blessed. We are looking forward to an exciting 2010 and many more wonderful things to come!! :)

day 5

Well, here we are, Day 5 since the fracture...still swollen, turning all sorts of colors and still hurting, but not as badly as the first couple days. Lovely huh?
Just call me cankles....YUCK!

some knitting pics

Well, I've been keeping busy with knitting and made this hat. Then made the flowers to go on it. These BIG flowers are very in right now for little girls and I think ADORABLE (dad I know you'll say differently). When I showed Justyn this one he stepped back & said "oh my GAWD" He doesn't love it at all...oh well, hopefully I'll sell it!
This one Justyn likes alot, he likes the smaller flower. I still plan to put a button to match in the middle, but can't get to my needles right now. So this will wait until I can get around better.

Doesn't Prestyn make a great model?? He thought the BIG flower hat was the best. :) Can't wait to have our baby girl wearing cute girly stuff! WHOOHOO!

SPOILED!

We were spoiled yesterday! Uncle Curt & Aunt Shari called & wanted to bring something over for us. They showed up with dinner, dessert and MILK DUDS!!! (how did they know??)
Also they brought the boys a barrel of monkeys and a "SMOKIN HOT MUSTACHE" for Cayden. For those of you who have a good memory, he used to say this ALL the time. To EVERYONE!!
SO thanks to Curt & Shari - we really appreciate your caring!!

Oh, and today I actually made it downstairs and made birthday party invitations for Charlie and Hope's party! Here are the sneak peek pics I emailed Steph, you'll have to wait for the full view until she receives them!!
I love custom orders!!!

Keeping busy

I decided if I was laid up I may as well be productive and stay busy. So i've been busy reading this book "America's Cheapest Family". Really quite an interesting read to hear how this family saved their money & stuck to a budget. Alot of the things they do, we do similarily, so we might just need to do a little tweaking!!
Of course THIS lovely box of Milk Duds that Heather brought me on Sunday is GONE (I have to gain SOME pregnancy weight...don't judge me) and YES Justyn did help me eat them....he's so loving and generous!!

I started another hat, this was on sunday just starting out, and I just finished it this afternoon, and now have another hat cast on!! :) FUN!!!
Of course I've been keeping Justyn busy with "Can you get me some more water?" "can you get me some more tylenol" and on Monday it was "I have to go to the bathroom"
(all before the crutches & boot. Now all he has to "do" for me is water & meds)
(and cooking, cleaning, feeding kids, laundry, diaper changes, baths, etc) He's doing an awesome job & has even kept Prestyn in cloth full-time since this whole thing happened.
WHAT A MAN!!!!!
Well he's been home for awhile & I guess re-organizing the closets last week wasn't enough to satisify his urge to de-clutter. So today I caught him re-organizing the kitchen cupboards/pantry. :)
He told me "NO PICTURES"!! HA.
I told him if he wants to win "Husband/Father of the Year" then I need to document all the fabulous things he does!!

Just FYI ladies, he is available for hire if you need him to come organize anything in your house. :) Just call and we'll set it up!!! (love you pooks)

Appointment update!

We are home from our x-rays, ultrasound, and dr's appointment. Our OB appointment got cancelled and rescheduled for next week, but we had to see a different dr for my ankle.
The ultrasound went great. Heartbeat was 155, 4 chamber heart, 3 vessel cord, perfect spine, 5 fingers on each hand etc. Everything on baby looked great. The tech was trying to find out the sex for us, but said it might be hard to tell if it wasn't a boy since we are a little early (18.5 weeks instead of 20). So he tried and didn't see anything. I said "I don't see a pee-pee, if it was a boy, we'd see a pee-pee right?" and he said yes. He looked again & again and couldn't find a pee-pee.
I said "so...it's a girl?" and he said "I think so" I said "I need a percentage" and he said "80%" and he also told us we could come back in 10 days and he do another u/s for free to verify the gender for us, but he then was calling the baby "her"!! So ...
ITS A GIRL!!!

On to the not to good news. I fell on the driveway on Sunday and hurt my right foot/ankle. I had x-rays this morning. We went to see Dr. Z to see if it was a sprain or what. He felt my leg and asked me to tell him when/where it hurt. Then he said he had already looked at the x-rays and I have a spiral fracture on the bone that goes over my ankle on the outside (not sure what that bone is called).
So I'm in a boot & on crutches. I'm supposed to keep my foot elevated as much as possible for the next few days & NO pressure on it. Then on Tuesday we have our OB check and they'll re-do the x-rays & check the swelling & pain. This type of fracture should heal itself without any surgery or anything but we'll have to watch it.

Stephanie - this picture is for you so you can see my boot. I'll have to have Justyn take my 18 week belly picture with all my gimpy gear (crutches and boot) Just so you can all laugh at me! ha!

I'm beyond annoyed and frustrated that I actually have a fractured bone. But when it all comes down to it, I'm relieved that that's the worst of what has happened. We have been so immensly blessed with our 2 healthy, happy boys, and another healthy pregnancy/baby. I'm so thankful for a wonderful husband who should win father/husband of the year (yes that's you babe) and I'm thankful we have everything that we need!! Home, health, food, love and each other!
Now this whole "GIRL BABY" thing just needs to sink in!!
